The team at Redfin wanted to offer people a better way to buy and sell homes in Las Vegas, so they recently announced a move into the Las Vegas market. The team is hiring talent in Las Vegas and say they are excited to get involved in the local tech scene and partner with other innovative companies.
“We can already tell how welcoming and collaborative the #VegasTech community is. We are very interested in participating in local tech-related events too: panel discussions, hackathons, you name it!” explained Ed Smith, Redfin Las Vegas Market Manager. “This year our CEO Glenn Kelman spoke at SXSW and Adam Wiener, our SVP, Marketing, Analytics & New Business spoke at REAL TECH in Las Vegas.”
Ed Smith, Redfin Las Vegas Market Manager“Our local real estate agents are paid a salary and bonuses based on customer satisfaction, not commissions and use technology to work more efficiently and strategically for their clients,” he continued.  “Las Vegas also has a blossoming tech community and we thought that our unique business model and technology-fueled approach to real estate would work well here. A lot of people moving to Las Vegas hail from other cities and naturally start their search online, so our website, mobile app, and unique tools make Redfin a great option for those long-distance buyers.”
Redfin real estate agents work side-by-side with engineers every day to make home buying and selling easier and more fun for consumers.
“They also collaborate to make the real estate agents’ daily processes more efficient. Many tools and features that we’ve launched have come from an agent or client asking “What if we…?” and an engineer figuring out how to make that happen. Examples include Tour Insights, the Price WhispererRedfin Matchmaker, and Deal Room,” he said.
To celebrate Redfin’s arrival in Las Vegas, their team is throwing a launch party and everyone in the Vegas Tech community is invited!
“We are hosting it at Downtown Cocktail Room from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014. It’s an opportunity for people in the community to meet the local Redfin team,” Ed Smith said. “We also expect to see other members of the real estate community there, including agents, lenders, inspectors and other professionals. There will be an open bar and passed appetizers as well as some other fun stuff like a photo booth and a raffle and, of course, swag! We’ll have some people doing demos of our iPad app and website so people are interested can try out our unique features like Home Value Tool and Search by School.”
