The Innevation Center is a one-of-a-kind public/private conference, collaboration & coworking environment created by Switch. The mission is to boost and diversify Nevada’s economy. Below is top news that happened for The Innevation Center during the week of July 28th, 2014.
#1 – 1 Million Cups is Coming
“We are incredibly excited to welcome 1 Million Cups, a program to engage, educate, and connect entrepreneurs, on Wednesday, August 13 AND every Wednesday thereafter! The weekly gathering is building startup communities over cups of coffee and conversation across the country,” wrote The Innevation Center team on their blog. “The program’s model is consistent in each location. Each Wednesday at 9 am, two early-stage startups present their companies to an audience of mentors, advisers, and other entrepreneurs. Each founder presents for 6 minutes and then fields audience questions for another 20 minutes. Local entrepreneurs drive the program as community organizers. Assuming the leadership roles in Las Vegas are Phil Randazzo, Adam Kramer, Chris Hanway, Ann Diab, Thomas Typinski, and Mark Brown.”

#2 – Startup Day Across America
“On Tuesday, August 5th, 2014 cities all over our nation will be celebrating Startup Day Across America,” writes The Innevation Center team on their blog. “This is a day for Republican and Democratic members alike to see firsthand how startups are revitalizing communities and the economy through interaction with startups in their district. House members are being encouraged to meet with and recognize startups in their districts and we’re proud to welcome Congressman Joe Heck to Innevation! Rep. Heck will be visiting 5 amazing companies at Innevation, getting to know them through observation, conversation, and demonstrations.”
In honor of this day, The Innevation Center is inviting members of the community to the facility for some complimentary coworking from 12 pm to 5 pm.
“There’ll be music, streaming of the hit HBO show, Silicon Valley, foosball, balloons, drinks, snacks, a step & repeat photo area, and the Kona Ice snow cone truck outside! At 3:45 pm, Congressman Heck will stop at Stage 2 for a brief chat and some Q & A with guests,” the team says. “Don’t miss out on this fun-filled (but work-focused) day! If you’ve never experienced coworking, now is a great opportunity to test it out.”
