Vancouver-based Inbound Retargeting Technologies has acquired Las Vegas-based Primeloop in an effort to strengthen its link retargeting product.
Inbound’s flagship product, Retarget Links, allows social media, inbound, and email advertisers to create short links that anonymously tag people clicking on the links. These tags are then recognized by ad networks and publishers, allowing them to create targeted banner ads. Retarget Links’ customers include Uber, Staples, Freshbooks, and Shopify.
Primeloop, a 500 Startups alumni and #VegasTech company, holds the IP for link retargeting. Primeloop has been funded by 500 Startups, VTF Capital, and Seraph Group, and Bay Area investors. In total, the company has raised $525,000.
“One of the most important drivers for this transaction is Primeloop’s IP and the portfolio of patents which are currently pending,” said Serge Salager, Retarget Links’ CEO and co-founder. “Primeloop founders were the first ones to commercialize what some describe as the combination of Bitly and AdRoll under the same roof. We have taken Primeloop’s technology further and allow our users to upload and manage their banner ads directly, and monitor their campaign performance directly from their dashboard. We are delighted to offer this to Primeloop’s user base.”
Primeloop CEO and co-founder Thomas Knoll will join Inbound’s board of directors.
“We created this technology to enable brands to share the most relevant 3rd party content without losing the ability to remarket their brand to that engaged audience,” said Knoll. “We are excited that Serge and his team are continuing this vision and providing our customers with their enhanced solution to creatively grow their businesses.”
Dear #VegasTech #500Strong and all the friends and family who helped us along the way, thank you for making this come true: https://t.co/TRI8Gg13hN
