#1 – 3 Innevation Collaborators Reforming Teacher Professional Development
On Monday, August 4, 2014 head to The Innevation Center from 2 to 4 pm to take part in an important discussion: Reforming Teacher Professional Development & Literacy Outcomes.
“Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, Nevada Succeeds, and The Public Education Foundation all call The Innevation Center home and we’re so proud of their efforts to improve education in Nevada!” The Innevation Center team wrote on their blog. “The meeting will present research from Seth Rau, Policy Director at Nevada Succeeds, and Victoria Carreon, Director of Research & Policy at Guinn Center for Policy Priorities. They’ve been working diligently on a paper that analyzes the effectiveness of current professional development efforts and recommends means of improvement. Their research also looks at current funding and how it can be re-prioritized to improve professional development.”
The Public Education Foundation will also be moderating a panel of local education leaders who will discuss their efforts to improve professional development, barriers they have encountered, and recommendations for the future. Panelists include:
